CGFO Exam Preparation Review Sessions

GFOAT is proud to present CGFO exam preparation review sessions. Each session is available virtually– no need for travel. Each session will be approximately 170 minutes in length. We will cover material needed to be successful on the exams. Extraneous material will be omitted so candidates can focus on material to be tested. Also, review sessions will cover test taking tips and techniques candidates need to be successful.

Our first session is coming February 18-19, 2023. All five exams will be covered. Each exam study session costs $100 each, except for Public Finance which costs $75. You will have the choice of choosing individual exams that you want to target, or you can sign up for a full session which will include all five exams at a discounted rate of $350.

Cash Management Exam and Study Guide Update

To better improve your user experience and efficacy of content, the Cash Management exam and study guide have been updated. The updated study guide is available for download from the study guide portal. The updated exam will go into effect on the next scheduled exam (see second announcement for exam schedule).

2023 Exam Schedule

The CGFO Exam Schedule for 2023 is now available. Please note all exams will be virtual except for exams that are held in conjunction with GFOAT conferences. Registration for the March exam will open after the new year. An email notice will be sent out.

March 3 – Virtual

April 16 – Onsite in conjunction with GFOAT Spring Conference 2023

June 23 – Virtual

August 25 – Virtual

October 25 – Onsite in conjunction with GFOAT Fall Conference 2023

Registration for the fall conference CGFO exam is now open! Please note, this exam will be offered on-site and must be taken in person. There will be no online option for this exam (please see FAQ below for details).

FAQ
 
Why is this exam in-person and not online?
All exams that correspond with the GFOAT Fall or Spring Conference will be held onsite at the conference venue.
 
 
Do I need to attend the 2021 GFOAT Fall Conference to take this exam?
No. Although participation in the conference is encouraged, the exam is an individual event and can be registered for separately.
 
 
Will there be future online exams?
Yes, all non-conference exams will continue with the online format throughout the year.

CGFO Exam Postponed

The exam scheduled for February 19, 2021 has been postponed due to widespread power outage across the state. The exam has been rescheduled for March 1, 2021. Continuing Education Reporting Deadline Extended
12/08/2020

The deadline to report your CEUs has been extended a full calendar year for all CGFOs. If your deadline was December 31, 2020, it is now December 31, 2021, and so on. If you have already reported 75 CEUs for your current tracking period, CEUs reported in 2021 will carry over to your next tracking period. Your CGFO and GFOAT membership dues remain on the current schedule, and there will be no extensions.
